Job overview and responsibilities
The Manager- Labor Relations assists in the development and the execution of the union labor strategy, including fostering effective relationships with union representatives, operating division business partners, human resources and labor relations and day-to-day administration in labor relations. This individual will provide labor relations expertise and counsel to Airport Operations, Technical Operations, and Contact Centers management, and Human Resources Business Partners, support the business objectives through administration of collective bargaining agreements, and assisting with contract negotiations, arbitrations, and providing guidance on employee discipline and grievance investigations.
Responds to front-line management inquiries of contract interpretations, performs internal consulting, researches, and prepares labor data, provides training to operational leadership, assists with discipline investigations. Counsels Supervisors and Managers in promoting and provide solid employee-management relations, including employee discipline
Providing advice, counsel, and training to managers regarding the interpretation, application, and administration of collective bargaining agreements
Responds to Union inquiries, contract interpretation/application, and dispute resolution
Preparing and participating in contract negotiations, including proposal development and strategy
Preparing and participating in contract negotiations, including proposal development and strategy
Preparing and participating in grievance hearings, up through arbitration
Training development and execution for operational leaders
Evaluating and leading/assisting with effective resolution of grievances and other local conflicts resulting from labor agreements
Required
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience dealing with national labor union
Experience in the collective bargaining process, collective bargaining administration, grievance and arbitration processes, labor-management relations, positive employee relations and Human Resources management
HR, legal or labor relations experience in a union/management environment; interpreting and administering CBA(s).
Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies
Understanding of federal and state laws and regulations relating to HR
Knowledge/understanding of HR Policies

Preferred
Preferred Masters in HR or LR, or JDT
5+ years airline operations experience and RLA (Railway Labor Act) experience
