What you’ll learn & achieve:
The SVP Corporate Finance and Decision Support will manage a global team of approximately 70 employees in the US, Asia, and Europe, providing financial support to UL Solutions three segments, eleven customer operating units, and functions. The team includes:
• Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis
• Embedded finance decision support team members partnered with businesses and support functions
• Capital investment process management
• Enterprise reporting for business operating metrics and financial performance
Key Responsibilities
Play a central role in data-driven decision-making and in communicating our strategy and business performance to key stakeholders.
Through the Financial Planning and Analysis processes, the Corporate Finance team partners with the executive team to lead the strategic and financial long-range plan, annual operating plan, and business forecasts. Company leadership uses the material to improve performance and continuously allocate resources. UL Solutions Board of Directors uses the performance reporting and planning material and discussion to understand opportunities in the business and as input for significant decisions and value-based management.
The Finance Decision Support team members partner with business unit and function leaders to power decisions and drive value through the budgeting process and support with capital investment requests.
The Corporate Finance team coordinates the Management Reporting process, including developing performance reporting information for the officers and board. In addition, the team coordinates Power BI reporting on operating metrics and financial outcomes.
The Capital Investment processes drive higher returns on investment by coordinating a rigorous process of aligning investments with strategy, business case development, financial and strategic analysis, investment post-audit, and portfolio management. In addition, the team leads the review and approval of investments and develops tools and processes to drive strong outcomes.
What makes you a great fit:
University Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
CPA or CFA is a plus
Fifteen+ years’ professional experience, preferably with a portion of that experience in a leadership position with a U.S. publicly traded company. At least two years of experience leading or playing a material role on a public company FP&A team.
Solid background in improving internal controls over financial reporting and SOX.
Ability to build confidence with the leadership team and with the Corporate Finance and Decisions Support team.
Experience partnering with business teams to help them achieve their objectives, including improving the customer or employee experience, reducing costs, and continuously improving KPIs.
An analytical, quantitative orientation that drives objective assessment of alternatives to improve processes.
Experience partnering with senior business leaders and presenting to C-level and Board representatives.
Excellent operational and financial information systems knowledge, partnering with business and IT team on projects.
Excellent communication skills: written, oral, presentation, in-person, and virtually.
