The GenSpring Investment Manager (IM) is responsible for partnering with Wealth Advisors to deliver Investment Management Services to new Ultra High Net Worth ($25+MM in AUM) clients and deepen and strengthen existing client relationships in the GenSpring segment of Truist Wealth. The GenSpring IM will deliver advice proactively based upon financial planning and a holistic view of the client’s circumstances. The GenSpring IM will typically manage the largest and/or most complex investment accounts with a client base of approximately 25-50 relationships and assets under management exceeding $800 million and revenue responsibility exceeding $5 million. They should be sought out by peers and co-workers for advice and assistance relating to investment expertise and client solutions.

Critical partner in new business development opportunities and primary resource for investment communication. Assists the Wealth Advisor in acquiring GenSpring-level, prospective clients. Effectively communicate GenSpring’s unique value proposition.
Assist Wealth Advisors with information discovery and client goal identification for prospective UHNW clients. Analyze prospective client investment portfolios; develop investment strategy – inclusive of asset allocation, investment implementation, and portfolio construction. Assess added complexity across the balance sheet, including limited partnerships and business interests, and impact on investment recommendations. Effectively articulate our investment process and recommendations.
As a key member of the Truist Wealth client facing team, share responsibility for developing and deepening client relationships through the delivery of proactive communication and advice for UHNW clients. Ascertain the engagement level for family office services and provide investment education to multiple generations within families.
By participating in client on boarding, customize the client’s investment portfolios and assess the client’s entry point into the investment management process based upon the client’s unique perspective of investing experiences, investment objectives and risk tolerances. Develop investment policy statements and advise and execute on strategic and tactical asset allocation.
Manage the daily trading activities in discretionary, non-discretionary, and trust-based portfolios.
Responsible for building a rapport with each of his or her base of client families prior to capital deployment which will help ensure long-lasting client/trusted advisor relationships.
Based on investment reviews with UHNW clients, recommend, establish, monitor and adjust investment strategies and solutions designed to achieve specific account related investment goals and objectives for discretionary and non-discretionary investment portfolios.
Adhere to (and document) risk management and compliance with all relevant regulatory policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
Ten plus years investment experience, which should include experience as an investment advisor or portfolio manager working with ultra-high net worth clients (with assets of $25 million+). Demonstrates superior investment skills and knowledge and a thorough understanding and application of complex investment vehicles and strategies.
The GenSpring Investment Manager combines the technical skills of Portfolio Managers with the communication and selling skills of sales-traders. The role requires a multi-product focus that incorporates equities, fixed income, foreign exchange products, derivatives, structured products, alternative investments, private equity and hedge fund strategies.
Has a track record of working with clients with at least $25MM in investible net worth.
Is able to synthesize complex investment and economic strategy from internal and external sources to inform portfolio management decisions
Is able to communicate sophisticated and complicated investment and economic concepts in a client-centric manner that is straight-forward, thoughtful, and relatable.
Is an active team player in identifying the need for and articulating to clients and teammates the investment implications of sophisticated financial solutions, such as GRATs, CRUTs, IDGT, and complex insurance strategies.
Is able to navigate the complexity of the organizational structure to coordinate resources, problem solve, and deliver to clients the highest level of client service.
Is intensely focused on building brand internally and externally.
Builds rapport, relationships, and credibility internally and externally.
Is a visible bank presence within the immediate community and is recognized as a representative of Truist investment thought leadership.
Engages consistently and frequently in external networking opportunities.
Speaks occasionally at Truist sponsored-events about market and economic issues.
Is recognized as possessing an appropriate executive presence that facilitates a perception of expertness, trustworthiness, credibility, and sensitivity to others.

Series 65 licenses. Candidates will have 60 days from their Start Date to transfer, or 100 days from their Start Date to acquire all of the registrations and licenses required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA/CFA and/or equivalent professional designation
Combination of buy and sell-side experience
