The primary purpose of your job position is to prepares financial statements and related analyses for Trinity Senior Living Communities. Prepares various account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Assists in preparing annual budgets and
forecasts for Trinity Senior Living Communities. Provides assistance to the Financial Services Manager during external and internal financial and third party audits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Behaviors of Trinity Health and Trinity Senior Living Communities in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
2. Consistently demonstrate (leads by example) TSLC Values to all internal and external customers (residents, visitors, volunteers, and employees.) Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, propagating a calm environment throughout the office.
3. Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TSLC.

5. Establish and/or maintain as a member of the leadership team a plan to achieve operating goals.
6. Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with managers, peers, direct reports and customers by effectively fostering a team environment, building consensus and resolving conflicts.
7. Maintain department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary. Identify financial vulnerabilities and make cost reduction recommendations as needed.
8. Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel and discipline department staff. Supports other personnel from other departments through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence. Addresses issues
of concern through courageous conversation and notifies department manager of any interactions requiring attention.
9. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, TSLC Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a
manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
10. In light of a disaster will know your disaster recovery, crisis management and business continuity plans and act within your role that is developed within the business continuity plan. Which may include working at another
location, remotely from home, and maintaining constant contact with key personnel.
11. Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements and prepares written summaries to senior management ensuring accurate reporting of financial information analyzing cash, receivables, payables, debt, equity, fixed
assets, revenues and expenses.
12. Assists in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts of TCCS. Assists in analysis of departmental budgets.
Prepares budget materials for distribution to departments, maintains the budget database and trains department leaders in use of this system.
13. Prepares various account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
14. Analyzes accounts payable and payroll information systems interface ensuring this information is properly reflected in the accounting records. Coordinates with the payroll manager to ensure that all payroll information is
appropriately classified. Coordinates with the accounts payable supervisor to ensure that all accounts payable information is appropriately classified.
15. Plays major role in preparation of the year-end financial reporting package distributed to all TH member organizations. Analyzes and reconciles receivables, payables, revenues and expenses to the general ledger.
16. Interacts with external auditors on a daily basis during the year-end audit. Prepares audit workpapers and responds to questions from the external auditors. Interacts with internal audit on an as needed basis.
17. Conducts special projects as requested by management including analysis of historical data, trends and effect of potential financial changes. Assists TCCS management in the development of proposals, monitoring of funds
and preparation of regulatory filing as required by various federal and foreign authorities.
18. Communicates regularly with Administrators to provide them with an understanding of accounting procedures and policies. Communicates financial information including current results, projections, budgets and audits to
personnel ensuring understanding and accounting of various issues.
19. Designs, utilizes and maintains financial systems which enable the Accounting Department to efficiently manage financial data.
20. Provides assistance to the Financial Services Manager in review of financial statements and related schedules and special project analysis.
21. Prepares tax filings in accordance with regulations in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of general accounting principles, as normally obtained through a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of four years accounting experience. A combination of education and experience may be
acceptable. CPA is preferred.
2. Must possess ability to develop, review and interpret financial information.
3. Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to handle a voluminous quantity of work encompassing many companies with differing requirements.
4. Must possess ability to work within a tight time constraint to meet all department standards for accuracy and production.
5. Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility. Ability to work with minimal
supervision and exercise independent judgment.
6. Possess interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment and productivity when working with cross functional teams, customers and end users. Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual, collaborative shared
leadership environment.
7. Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site
or virtual environment is required. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
8. Comprehensive to expert proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system. Knowledge of financial systems
necessary. Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
9. Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and independent decision making abilities with the skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
of the organization in line with mission, vision, and philosophy of TSLC.
10. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple duties and functions related to daily operations and maintain excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform frequent detailed tasks and provide immediate
service with frequent interruptions. Ability to change and be flexible with work priorities. Strong problem solving skills.
11. Ability to research, analyze and assimilate information from various on-site or virtual sources based on technical and experience based knowledge. Must exhibit critical thinking skills and possess the ability to prioritize workload.
12. Position requires 5% travel within the Community’s geographic region and to home office in Livonia, MI.
