Description:
Mercy Care is seeking a Director of Finance to join our team, comprised of 300 plus colleagues. Mercy Care Atlanta is a healthcare organization that provides a range of health services to underserved and vulnerable populations in the Atlanta, Georgia area. This position is primarily responsible for the financial management services of Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services and Mercy Senior Care . Provides oversight of budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, grants receivable, patient accounts receivables , purchasing , and all financial reporting functions .
As a Mercy Care Executive, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate leadership traits which support our Mission Statement and Core Values. The ideal candidate will have the ability to embrace improved technological solutions and innovations with the ability to overcome resistance to change. A track record of successfully influencing all levels of the organization and to successfully build relationships and teams to align strategies and achieve business results. Strong understanding of organizational structure, business operations, financial impact/analysis – bottom line understanding. Ability to act quickly and responsively on new initiatives, anticipate opportunities and develop new and innovative ways to do business. Proven track record of metric driven results, through developing action plans and initiatives to drive colleague engagement, safety, retention, and organizational strategic objectives.
Position Summary:
Manage financial management services for Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services and Mercy Senior Care.
Oversee budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, grants receivable, and financial reporting functions.
Coordinate credentialing of Mercy Care providers with government and non-government payers.
Develop and implement financial counseling programs at fixed-site clinics.
Manage the Materials department, including purchasing, inventory control, and emergency preparedness.
Coordinate external audit engagements and ensure compliance with hospital and department policies.
Serve as a member of the SJMCS Management Team and assist in policy development related to financial matters.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of three (3) years progressive management experience with at least seven (7) years in the field.
Background in Healthcare/Non-profit industry.
Working knowledge of grant accounting systems and Federal A-133 audit requirements.
Familiarity with payroll, accounts payable, billing and collections systems, reimbursement systems, and contract administration.
Conflict resolution and data analysis skills.
Experience in employee supervision, training, and evaluation.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Administration with accounting emphasis required, MBA preferred.
An Active CPA license is required or are planning to sit for your CPA exam within 6 months.
