Description:
The Director, Finance is responsible for financial stewardship and direction of Chelsea Hospital through effective business leadership, strategy development, internal controls and operating and capital budget development, monitoring and management.
The selected candidate provides senior executive leadership and direction for finance, materials management, supply chain, health information management, (HIM), ICD-10, real estate lease/purchases in conjunction with Chelsea Hospital System Property Management Department.
They act as the Chelsea Hospital for System’s Manager of Patient Access. The Director is responsible for the integrity of all financial information and reporting. The position participates with other senior management to address, interpret, resolve and monitor a broad and diverse range of financial, operational and strategic issues. The Director contributes to the overall management of Chelsea Hospital by driving key strategies and financial performance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Proactively works in a collaborative manner with other members of the Senior Leadership Team, with Regional leadership, and with Trinity Health System Office and Unified Service Organizations to improve financial performance and attain strategic goals and objectives.
Required Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or related field required. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred. Healthcare Financial Management Association certification desirable.
Ten years’ experience in financial management with progressively increasing responsibility and a minimum of five years’ experience as CFO, controller or finance director in a hospital setting is required.
Must possess knowledge of the healthcare environment and key issues associated with hospitals, ambulatory care and physician alignment, in addition to an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of healthcare finance and strategic financial planning.
Ability to work in a complex matrix reporting environment.
