Job Description

Position Summary
Trek is looking for a technically strong, analytical, self-motivated, detail focused individual to fill a key seat on our growing Retail Finance team. The Retail Accountant will report directly to the Retail Accounting Manager located in Waterloo, WI.
This position will require you to engage & partner with a variety of teams to drive change within our retail operation. Huge opportunity to learn & develop at a great company. Candidate should have a high level of curiosity & be hungry to get their hands into the details.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily tasks to ensure accurate and timely accounting for our direct retail store operation
- Core areas of the operation being Cash, Inventory, and Accounts Payable
- Identify store transactional errors and “own the problem through resolution” for our stores
- Communicate system or process improvement opportunities to enhance internal controls
- Team-driven, willingness to help others in order to deliver month-end close by the deadline
- Execute weekly, monthly account reconciliations to maintain balance sheet integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 1+ year of corporate accounting experience
- 1+ year of public accounting experience preferred; not required
- CPA preferred; not required
- Proven track record of ‘hitting the deadline’!
- Exhibit competence in all aspects of general ledger accounting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Excel
