Serving as a key member of the expense management team by providing finance, accounting, and expense allocation services to the organization in a management/leadership capacity.

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more functional teams; work with managers and supervisors to ensure development of staff.
• Experience with finance transformation and building new processes primarily in the area of expense reporting and analysis
• Participate in developing strategic direction for the department/business unit; understand the organization and team vision.
• Control resources and policy formulation in area of responsibility.
• Communicate goals based on business objectives; assist staff in setting goals and performance measures.
• Calibrate performance appraisals and overall performance of teams.
• Participate in large cross-functional projects or may lead cross-functional projects.
• Manage approved budget and help determine how/where money is spent.
• May be a process owner and will be responsible for ensuring work is performed in a control environment.

Qualifications

• Insurance industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
• Ten years of accounting/finance experience including five years of supervisory/management experience
• Strong people management skills
• Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences
• Organizational and prioritization skills
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems
• Prior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) experience, ideally in a leadership capacity – focus for this role is expense management including expense allocation

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Tableau, Essbase, and Anaplan
• Experience with finance transformation and building new processes primarily in the area of expense reporting and analysis
• Extensive knowledge of assigned business area (e.g. investments, premiums, IFRS, Statutory Accounting)

Compensation:
The salary for this position generally ranges between $140,000 – $170,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
Bonus Eligibility:
This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 20.0%.

• Occasional travel
