The Staff Pad has partnered with a growing law firm in St. Louis, Missouri. We are looking for a Billing Supervisor to join their firm. The Billing Supervisor is part of the billing leadership team. The Billing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all aspects of billing are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will work closely with internal and external clients to facilitate the distribution of the pre bills and invoices according to client and firm guidelines.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Manage the firm’s billing process and billing team in following firm and client guidelines.Â
Manages billing team workloads to achieve maximum efficiencies.Â
Manages the billing process for a portfolio of assigned attorneys and/or clients to include generation of pre bills to sending out invoices.Â
Respond to requests from internal and external clients in a professional and timely manner.
Identify and escalate billing related issues to billing manager and work with billing manager to determine appropriate course of action.
Liaise with attorneys and practice group leaders regarding billing requirements.
Proactively seek ways to improve billing process.
Monitor and update new clients for required billing guidelines, invoice formats/setting and rate arrangements.
Prepare month-end billing reports.
Acts as a backup to team members and be proactive in assisting others to ensure deadlines are met timely.Â
Requirements
Experience with billing softwares with legal billing preferred.
Self-starter with a high level of initiative.Â
Strong analytical skills and ability to use data for process improvement and efficiencies.Â
Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time.
Continuous learner seeking out additional supervisory responsibilities.Â
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge of Excel.
Able to adapt to fast-paced work environment.Â
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people.
Proven leadership experience with direct reports.Â
Education:Â
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration/Management with an emphasis in accounting.
Knowledge of basic accounting and billing principles.
