The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
The EHR Manager will manage and oversee all aspects of the use and maintenance of the Electronic Health Record system for the College of Dentistry. As the EHR Manager, the incumbent is expected to strategically analyze all EHR processes, including but not limited to, billing, workflows, dental procedures, form usage, quality assurance, outcomes evaluation, report generation, and research data extraction in all applicable clinical areas and determine the methods for implementing these processes into the EHR system. As such, the incumbent will serve as the liaison between the IT Department, EHR Users, and Clinic Administration, coordinating to ensure all processes are integrated appropriately. This position requires advanced knowledge of IT operations and engineering including knowledge of various EHR systems and understanding of clinical operations in all areas of the school. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and coordination of our comprehensive, College-wide training plan for the EHR enhancements and upgrades to be utilized by all current and future EHR users, including students, staff, and faculty. The incumbent will serve as the College of Dentistry’s expert on the specific needs and requirements of the Electronic Health Record system as users provide dental care in a dental education environment; s/he is expected to project this expertise using clear and concise oral/written communications skills.
This is a full-time position. The EHR Manager will occasionally be required to work weekend or holiday hours when necessary and travel to appropriate training/user events as determined by the Director of Information Systems.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Required: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major or minor in computer science or a closely related field and or 1 -2 years of dental clinical computer management administration and skills.
Desired: The ideal candidate would possess extensive knowledge and experience of a dental EHR. Candidate would have extensive background in systems administration, reporting, training, and Crystal Reports. Substitution: 6 years of clinical computing software programs and applications systems experience.
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $73,100 to $97,500.
