YOUR POSITION WITH TNC
The Finance Manager provides finance and accounting-related services to the Rhode Island Chapter Business Unit. This is a full-time position that can be done remotely located anywhere in the United States or be based in our Chapter office in Providence, Rhode Island. The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 with a very competitive benefits package. There are minor travel requirements for employee working remotely including travel to Providence, Rhode Island one to two times per year.
The Finance Manager is an integral part of the Rhode Island Chapter providing financial management, reporting; general accounting; grants budget administration, forecasting, and annual budgeting. They have a high level of expertise in one or more of these areas. The Finance Manager provides budgeting assistance to staff as requested to ensure that the chapter remains on strong financial footing. The position administers and maintains finance/accounting activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures and best practices in financial management.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
Guides staff in annual budget and forecasting development and inputs in to TNC’s financial system.
Formulates monthly tracking reports (expenses vs. revenue)
Quarterly Grant financial review
Quarterly Board finance report
Supporting the Board’s Finance Committee
Tracks finances to ensure donor intent achieved and makes approved transfers
Provides staff timely financial information for use in decision making
Trains staff in chapter financial literacy
Networks with other divisional and regional finance staff
Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
Reinforces consistency in the organization’s policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.
3 years experience in finance and bachelor’s in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent combination.
Experience with accounting/financial issues and analysis.
Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.
Technical experience with spreadsheet programs, general ledger reports and financial management tools.
Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational skills.
Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Non-profit accounting experience.
May require technical expertise on complex accounting/financial issues.
