Position Summary:
As the Vice President of Finance, you will oversee all financial matters and leverage that information to make informed strategic decisions. You will work closely with the President and Executive Leadership Team to provide strategic direction for all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, tax and treasury. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is key to achieving performance objectives for this role. You’ll ensure that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
Major Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead quarterly financial forecasting process, reviewing financial information with Executive team members, and updating all systems with the forecasted data
Coordinate Executive team management of working capital levels, including weekly and monthly reviews focused on cash metrics. Lead internal projects designed to drive overall better cash return on investment (CRI)
Help determine KPI’s for each department and assist with monthly tracking of performance against these measures
Provide key inputs for the annual strategic plan, including analysis of revenue streams, competitor financial comparison, full financial forecast, and operating/strategic initiatives
Lead product pricing reviews with the Executive team, including initiation of price increases when determined necessary
Oversee financial close and reporting process, including generation of monthly reports. Lead review of the financial data with the Executive team of the business as well as the parent company
Manage internal control environment, including periodic reviews of controls with Accounting and Executive team members
Meet with key stakeholders and create accounting write-ups for any new types of transactions, work with Corporate Accounting team to ensure proper adherence to GAAP
Manage finance product roadmap including implementation of additional automation tools: i.e. Avalara – a sales tax automation system, Descartes – denied party screening system, Concur – expense reimbursement (additional features)
Build financial reports and presentations used by members of the Executive, Sales, and Accounting teams, primarily utilizing NetSuite and Tableau for data elements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related course of study, plus 10 or more years of practical experience, is required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
