About The Role
Howard Hughes is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Bridgeland accounting and contract administration team in the Master Planned Communities (MPC) segment.
What You Will Do
* Ensure that Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are being adhered to for all financial reporting periods.
* Process job cost invoices and contract pay applications.
* Log invoices and contract pay applications as they are received into the Cash Projections spreadsheet used to monitor payment status.
* Obtain proper documentation from contractors for progress and final payments.
* Communicate proper billing procedures to vendors.
* Prepare job cost reimbursement packages consisting of copies of invoices or pay applications and cancelled checks for reimbursable expenditures.
* Prepare or review residential lot sales closing statements.
* Assist with month-end close process, including preparation of accruals, journal entries, and account analysis in Blackline.
* Assist with improving, implementing and documenting processes and internal control policies and procedures.
* Special projects and other duties as needed.
About You
* Three or more years of accounting experience. Real Estate industry experience preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and related products.
* Must have experience with ERP systems, JDE experience preferred. Experience with Blackline Tasks, Journal Entry, and Reconciliations modules preferred.
* A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed.
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
* Must be deadline focused, organized, and exhibit problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, work with little supervision and attention to detail.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
