This is accomplished by applying or ensuring the application of a standard defined methodology to the project and providing the leadership skills necessary to control the execution of the project tasks, as defined in the methodology. Responsible for delivering several key project assets, and shares responsibility and accountability with the project leadership team for the successful delivery of the entire project. Works cross-functionally with channels and business partners, to ensure programs and projects are delivered successfully: on time, on budget and accomplishing the stated business objective. May also be responsible for helping the Marketing PMO leadership team with long range planning activities.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
25% – Leads the long term program planning to include the documentation of the overall implementation strategy, program scope, confirmation of deliverables in alignment with the Marketing PMO and the required delivery dates, creation of logical work plans, definition of major project milestones, accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates. Helps the project Business Owner(s) define and articulate project strategy, objectives, KPIs, scope and business requirements. Thinks strategically, creatively and with a customer focus – to make recommendations regarding execution strategies and potential solutions.
20% – Effectively present and communicate project strategies, statuses, risks and key decisions within project teams, stakeholder meetings and with Senior Management on a regular basis
15% – Develops/approves plans for controlling the project scope, schedule and cost baseline, and monitors project execution. Provides tactical direction and supports Project Managers in identifying project risks and mitigation approaches, as escalating as needed.
10% – Accountable for the overall program financials. Ensures project forecasts exist for projects within the program
15% – Ensures lessons learned are effectively applied to subsequent projects. Ensures a good working environment exists for all members of the team. Ensures teams are staffed, duties and responsibilities are understood by everyone, and an inclusive environment is maintained.
15% – Manages Project Managers. Ensures they are adequately trained and performing at the required level. Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff. Responsible for guiding and directing the overall success of all projects through associated staff. Additionally, the position will require utilization of Agile project management fundamentals to ensure requirements are identified and resources aligned.
