Work Focus
Role requires strong risk assessment skills, thought leadership, can-do attitude, a transformation mindset, and client focus in the areas of global internal controls, financial processes, and policies. The role requires an ability to continuously strike the balance between acceptable business risk and appropriate control to evolve the Company’s governance environment. Role owner must possess the ability to remain flexible and flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment with competing priorities and deadlines, including a willingness to adapt to new circumstances, information, and challenges. The role requires effective project and change management capabilities as CPG drives and supports process and policy improvements & simplifications, proactively identifies, and follows through on key stakeholder requirements and effectively communicates to relevant stakeholders, including Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors. Finally, the role requires a strong people leader/influencer personality who effectively operates in global, virtual, and networked team structures, and unleashes team capabilities and complementary skill sets to consistently ensure excellent deliverables, and developmental growth.
Communication Focus
The role regularly communicates with leaders across the Global Finance organization (typically, Operating Unit and Regional Finance Directors, Financial Services Global Process Owners and their teams, Internal Controls teams, Controller’s Group, Tax, Treasury and Corporate Internal Audit), and the External Auditors. The role regularly operates as a bridge between Field operations and Corporate functions and requires strong listening and influencing skills to balance risk acceptance and control/policy requirements as well as the identification and follow-through of risk-appropriate compromise solutions. The role requires great executive presence to set and communicate control and policy standards confidently, and an ability to interact with all levels within the organization up to Company Senior Leadership. As the role defines global policy content and communicates insights up to the Board of Directors, strong written communication skills with a high attention to detail, and the ability to break down complexity into comprehensive communication, are imperative.
