Cleveland Construction Company in search of a Construction Accounting Administrator
100% Paid for health and dental coverage
All aspects of Accounts Payable and Payroll including waivers, check runs, union reporting, certified payroll, sales/use taxes for three regional offices out of our Corporate Office in Cleveland, OH. This is NOT and will likely never be a remote position. We come to the office EVERY day. If this is what you are looking for, then we are not for you. Office hours are 8:00 – 5:00 1 hour for lunch.
Process in-house payroll for approximately 40-100 union employees (varies often) including certified payroll, union reporting, and employee levies. This includes calculating overtime for multiple unions in multiple states/cities, manual entry of the time-cards and production of the checks and packages going to our construction sites across the country. We do NOT work with a payroll company to produce our construction workers paychecks. Any candidate MUST be willing to learn and be capable of completing this process.
Work with others in the accounting department to handle accounting, financial reporting and human resources for the company.
Prepare timely job costing reports to monitor job progress and profitability.
Participate in the month-end and year-end close process.
Develop and document business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Work with Controller and outside CPA firm to create accurate financial information for management in a timely manner.
Other duties and projects as assigned including answering and routing phone calls as needed.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance helpful.
5+ years of general accounting/financial analysis, payroll experience required, Foundation experience preferred.
Workers Compensation experience is preferred.
Strong business acumen and understanding of inter-related business processes.
Additional experience with payroll, construction compliance helpful.
Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and have strong attention to detail.
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
MUST be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
