The Archdiocese of Baltimore Looking for Finance Director (pt) at Baltimore, MD Full Time

Mother Mary Lange Catholic School, located in Baltimore, seeks candidates for a part-time Finance Director.

The Finance Director (FD) is an experienced accounting professional who is responsible for the daily posting of accounting transactions and reporting on the Mother Mary Lange Catholic School’s (MMLCS) financial results. This position assists the Principal with the stewardship of the finances of the school, in accordance with Archdiocesan policies and guidelines. The individual employed values the organization and responsible management of resources, as well as helps the School fulfill its mission and purpose.

Please note that the FD may work evening hours on occasion, for participation in committee meetings. This position is eligible for health and welfare and retirement benefits.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the school including: financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, budgeting, reconciliation, and ensuring a complete, accurate and timely general ledger.

Ensures payroll and benefits are implemented in accordance with applicable law and Archdiocesan policy, as well as, processed accurately and paid timely.

Provides support at staff meetings, School Board meetings, Finance Committee meetings, and other committee meetings appropriate to the position.

As appropriate, coordinates and prepares school response to liability, insurance and legal concerns, in cooperation with Archdiocesan offices.

Ensures compliance with Diocesan policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, with the assistance of Diocesan staff.

Serves as liaison between MMLCS and Archdiocese of Baltimore. Works directly with AOB – SRC on operational and financial related matters. Attends Archdiocesan training, update and development meetings.

Job Requirements:
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA and/or MBA a plus.

Five or more years work experience in a finance or accounting position.

Strong written and oral skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.

Ability to interact effectively as a team member and to supervise others

Understand and support the operation and mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic education
