TEKNI PLEX INC Looking for Director of Accounting and Reporting at Wayne, PA Full Time

The Director of Accounting and Reporting will have primary responsibility for the Company’s corporate accounting and reporting function, including oversight of the global financial consolidation process, technical accounting and internal and external reporting processes. The Director of Accounting and Reporting will have an in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and will have the ability to apply standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques as well as make complex decisions. The Director of Accounting and Reporting will be responsible for managing and supervising a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure accurate consolidation of all Company subsidiaries’ financial results on a monthly basis;
• Responsible for performing all technical accounting research related to complex accounting matters and documenting the Company’s positions and comprehensive accounting treatment in memoranda;
• Lead role in adoption and implementation of new accounting standards;
• Ensure accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including preparation of various quarterly and annual reports, as well as compliance certificates;
• Review supplemental forms, roll-forwards and accounts on a consolidated basis as well as for each individual subsidiary;
• Implement process improvements to streamline the monthly close, reduce cycle time and improve information quality;
• Partner with other functions to drive process improvements and efficiencies;
• Assisting in mergers, acquisitions, due diligence or dispositions of companies including valuation of the opening balance sheet accounts;
• Responsible for all public governmental census filings;
• Manage day-to-day coordination with external auditors, including annual financial statement audit, statutory audits, bank reporting, employee benefit plan audits, etc;
• Serve as liaison on accounting and reporting matters to functions and divisions outside the corporate finance organization, including international subsidiaries;
• Update and contribute to the development of existing accounting policies, procedures and methodologies, with a focus on process improvement;
• Proactively and frequently interact with corporate Accounting team members to evaluate accounting issues and information related to periodic financial closings;
• Implement accounting processes for newly acquired companies and work to streamline and improve processes;
• Supervise and manage selected functions of the corporate accounting staff;
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable, but not required;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required;
• Possesses strong working knowledge of ERP systems and subledgers;
• Possesses strong math aptitude, work accurately with numbers, good organization skills and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment. Strong analytical ability and thorough understanding of computer systems and accounting principles;
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills;
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Requires a strong team player who can also work with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 7 years accounting experience, including experience with technical accounting research;
• Experience with OneStream preferred;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Previous experience managing staff required
• Public/Big 4 and private accounting experience preferred
• CPA required
