Job Description:
As a Commercial Finance Manager, you are responsible for owning full profit management of one of our major distribution channels. Key activities include top to bottom line Profit & Loss management, commercial strategic decision making, process improvement of internal workflows, and executive communication of financial results and KPIs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide financial support to channel SVP/EVP’s. “Go-to” individual for all financial analyses.
Propose recommendations based on scenarios and communicate results to Finance, Commercial, and Executive Leadership.
Work in tandem with Business Unit Leads to drive strategic decision making for the channel at product group level.
Functional ownership of spend areas specific to the channel.
Review and understand customer/distributor program offerings and the impact to channel profitability.
Provide post-mortem analysis for all commercial investments including but not limited to topline growth, mix analysis, commercial incentives, and pricing decisions.
Partner with sales leads to provide financial analysis / recommendations on incremental growth opportunities with respect to current business needs.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
Lead the evolution of long-term account and channel planning.
Identify knowledge gaps and develop tools, processes & models to provide meaningful information to internal customers.
Effectively communicate assumptions made in budget, forecast, and stretch opportunity scenarios.
Job Requirements
6+ years of experience in an accounting or finance related field
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years people management experience
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel knowledge
Able to effectively communicate financial metrics to audiences at all levels of the organization (written, verbal, presentation, and listening)
Understands business impact to Profit & Loss and interconnectedness of multiple Profit & Loss lines
Self-motivated. Exhibits Never Satisfied, Always Improving mantra
Ability to take leadership role in diverse, cross-functional teams
Create robust project plans
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Showcase strategic thinking skill set
