SUMMARY
The Communications and event Coordinator is a key member of the Marketing /PR team and is responsible for the administration and coordination of external and internal communication, media hosting, social media assistance and website content assistance for Tamarack Resort. This position will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date and relevant communication to both guests and staff, and implementing strategies for content distribution and engagement across the resort. This position will also develop, schedule, book, coordinate and be the primary contact for all on mountain special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Create Guest communication plan with Marketing and Event Manager to build awareness of events, promotions, snow conditions, etc.
· Improve and innovate staff communication across resort in a timely fashion as to changes in operations, new events and promotions and upcoming events and promotions.
· Track marketing budget.
· Build distribution plan for promotional materials across resort.
· Coordinate all special events.
· Assist Content coordinator in coordinating photo and video shoots.
· Archive media coverage and industry trends.
· Support the Marketing and Communications with various tasks.
· Assist with internal coordination and hosting of fams and press tours.
· Assist in maintaining and organize company digital asset library.
· Assist PR Agency in writing and distributing press releases, calendar listings and media alerts.
· Assist in coordination and production of winter and summer press kits as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college in communications, marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior work experience of 1-2 years in marketing / public relations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Requires possession of valid Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort insurance carrier. Must have own reliable mode of transportation.
