MANAGER – R&D FINANCE

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Independently manages financial planning, analysis and reporting activities for assigned function. Serves as active member of function management/project teams and provides strategic thinking and consultation to support decision making. Identifies and implements continual process improvement across systems and deliverables.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operates as finance business partner for designated function/TAU project portfolio
Accountable for managing all business function/project portfolio financial planning, analysis and reporting.
Analyze monthly financial results and ROI outputs and to understand how to use this information to drive projects that will impact the business
Active member of function management team/project team(s) supporting decision making with significance broadly for the team/business.
Support the Accounting team on monthly/quarterly closes, tasks including calculation of monthly accruals and preparation of journal entries
Partner with key stakeholders to develop proposals for capacity planning and resource allocation strategies and strategically relevant financial plan and forecast processes.
Develop financial models and analytical tools to support functional and TAU/GPT objectives and projects
Set priorities; develop workflow processes, and direct a team of colleagues with no official reporting relationship
Meet specific deadlines in a changing environment, ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively
Drive the development and use of the financial planning system for assigned functions
Design and distribute monthly reporting packages summarizing functional area/ or project financial results
Develop and maintain performance tracking and analysis for external collaborations.
Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of overall business experience, and/or
Strong variance analysis, cost management and valuation experience
Pharmaceutical-Biotech industry experience or acumen in core therapeutic areas
Experience consulting with senior level stakeholders/clients;
Advanced data visualization and presentation experience
Ability to gain trust of high-level management and leverage relationships
Ability and desire to take ownership of activities and projects, desire to shape the organization, consistent “out of the box” thinking
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:
Effective November 1, 2021, absent an approved religious or medical reason, all US office-based and lab-based Takeda employees who work fully on-site or in a hybrid model (as determined by Takeda) must be fully vaccinated to work at a Takeda site or to engage with Takeda colleagues or anyone else on behalf of Takeda. As of the same date, absent an approved religious or medical reason, US field-based employees, employees must be fully vaccinated in order to continue in their current roles. US employees who work at a Takeda manufacturing facility, and those who work at a BioLife center or BioLife lab, may be subject to different guidelines.
