Accounting Assistant – Consortium Finance Location:
RDU Reports to:
Director, Finance – Fuel Facilities Job Summary The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Consortium Finance department by performing clerical duties related to but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget preparation, weekly and monthly reports, and analysis.
Job Responsibilities Setup up vendors upon request once vetted.
Prepare check run reports for approval.
Cut checks and review to ensure they printed properly and match the approved proposal list.
Handle the postal needs of the department.
This may include checking the department’s PO Box and distributing mail and visiting the local post office to mail communications, vendor checks, or send certified mail.
Make bank deposits.
Post customer payments.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records, customer reporting and prepare variance reports as required.
Assist with audit requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience required.
Strong administrative skills.
Effective communication skills.
Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and easy familiarization with new IT Tools.
Ability to work under demanding deadlines; flexible, communicative and ability to work in teams.
Good decision-making skills based on facts and analyses; must be detail oriented.
Good relationship building skills.
Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills.
Personal and professional integrity of the highest order.
Aviation background preferred.
