Summary of Position:
Responsible for the overall financial health of the organization. Manages, coordinates and administers the various day-to-day responsibilities and support activities of the Finance Department, which includes, but is not limited to, account payable, accounts receivable, Financial Planning & Analysis, budgets, financial forecasting, review and preparation of financial documents and business reports. You will partner with the CFO to continually refine and streamline current reporting/planning/forecasting processes, build partnerships across the organization, identify new opportunities to provide insight, and play a key role in mentoring/coaching an incredible team of motivated individuals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Oversee, manage and monitor operations of the finance/accounting department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
· Manage all day to day accounting and finance functions of the organization (Invoicing, AP, AR, payroll, daily sales summaries, and other transactions)
· Oversee payroll functions, including tip payouts, catering commissions, reconciliations and ensure timely processing of all payrolls
· Coordinate and facilitate external audits (worker’s comp, sales tax, landlord sales audits, etc)
· Provide technical direction, leadership and guidance in supporting management with finance functions
· Support project analysis and modeling for the organization
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and KPI’s and formulate conclusions and/or solutions
· Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
· Help develop and maintain SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for the Department
· Effectively manage the accounting/finance team through communication, clear expectations, relevant training, coaching, mentorship, regular meeting and appropriate performance management
· Prepare financial reports and submission to relevant government entities (such as sales tax)
· Ensure all restaurant operations’ licenses are renewed and in good standing
· Working with management to prepare budgets and track P&L performance by business unit
· Provide direction and training to operational team in areas related to finance, accounting, financial reports, internal controls, labor management, payroll, etc
· Manage and oversee corporate office administration
· Help maintain and improve efficiencies across the organization including cost analysis, expense management, contract pricing violations, and vendor partnerships
Qualifications:
· Be 21 years of age
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related finance field; MBA a plus
· 6+ years of demonstrated growth in Finance/Accounting/FP&A positions with experience managing others
· Restaurant, retail or hospitality industry experience a plus but not required
· Outstanding analytical skillset and ability to think critically with minimal guidance and strong self-motivation
· Takes time to understand the needs of peers and leadership across the organization; able to draw clear, valuable insight from complex data and articulate findings catered to unique audiences
o Enjoys coaching and developing others to do the same
· Experience contributing to P&L planning & forecasting; strong desire to develop more accurate/efficient methods for predicting, modeling, and understanding restaurant and company performance
· Creativity and a strong sense of ownership in projects/processes; enjoys crafting information in a way that is easily and quickly digestible by the end user; sees data as a puzzle to decipher and enjoys the process
· Comfortable having many large projects in process simultaneously and communicating clear expectations to end users on scope and timing
· Very strong team player; will play a significant role in mentoring/developing our team and contributing to an environment that encourages teamwork, personal growth, mutual respect, and having fun along the way. Desire to mentor and lead humbly and by example.
· Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and Power Point
· Use of restaurant software’s including Restaurant 365 and Toast is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $78,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
