The Senior Development Officer, Gift Planning (SDO) will cultivate, solicit and steward gift planning prospects/donors with a capacity to make a gift of $25,000 or more. SDO, GP will be directly responsible for 100 to 150 prospects/donors and annual revenue of $1 million or more – increasing during tenure with Sutter Health Valley Area. Conduct solicitations independently, in collaboration with other frontline team members, donor advisors, and with senior leadership and volunteers. Maintain strong knowledge of strategic Valley priorities. Increase pool of qualified planned and blended gift prospects by drawing upon an array of lead generating strategies and resources including marketing outreach, online inquiries, direct referrals from Sutter colleagues and volunteers. and research analytics.
SDO, PG will actively team with other development staff including other Senior Development Officers, Development Officers, Directors of Philanthropy, Valley Vice President for Philanthropy and the entire philanthropy team. SDO, PG will generate and follow-through with complex solicitation plans: develop a case for support; utilize planned giving tools such as PG Calc; identify and recruit a compelling solicitation team of physicians, volunteers and senior executives – in collaboration with Director and development staff. Teamwork and collaboration with other Sutter Health foundations is required.
It is the responsibility of the SDO, GP to update donor database records for assigned donors/prospects as interactions occur.
This position works from home but must reside within the Sutter Health Valley area footprint and be in attendance for monthly staff meetings as well as meetings with prospects and donors.
