SunSource Looking for Accounts Payable Clerk at Addison, Illinois Full Time

SunSource is one of the largest national fluid power distributors in North America. Consider joining the Accounting/Finance team in this exceptional opportunity. We are currently seeking an Account Payable Clerk based in Addison, IL.

The selected candidate will be responsible for processing A/P to issue payments to vendors, resolve discrepancies and answer vendor and associate inquiries. This position will also cross train on A/R duties.

Required Education and Experience

• High school/GED diploma required, Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 1+ years previous A/P, A/R or general accounting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Suite experience specifically proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Concur a plus
• Must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task and have the ability to work in a changing environment

Essential Functions

• Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
• Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
• Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents
• Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation
