Overview:
The Marketing Copy Writer (Content Specialist) is an experienced writer with a history of content creation and storytelling across digital, social, broadcast, and other platforms. This role must understand how to craft messaging for a major brand and how to create must-read content for short- and long-form projects. A Marketing Copy Writer (Content Specialist) is a natural at generating ideas and building them to scale for campaigns of every size—from simple email streams to major campaigns. The Marketing Copy Writer (Content Specialist) is a masterful writer, an insightful creative strategist, and a thoughtful collaborator. Must be experienced in creating authentic human understanding through the power of words.
Responsibilities:
Writes and develops engaging, brand-building, creatively smart, fresh, and strategically sound marketing messages for all mediums—including original content creation for digital, print, web, video and more.
Has a deep understanding of creative advertising and creative briefs. Writes, crafts, and presents innovative, strategically clever solutions for advertising of all sizes, from journey focused emails to major multi-platform initiatives and campaigns.
Supports Communication Director with content creation grounded in best practices.
Supports writing needs of Marketing Department and its team members, as well as teams across the enterprise.
Maintains current knowledge of marketing strategies, trends, and tools. Brings enthusiasm and positive thinking to every project.
Ensures all materials meet internal and external compliance standards and follows guidelines, and established approval processes.
Understands, champions, and continually seeks to grow Suncoast’s brand voice.
Skilled at finding message at heart of every campaign and expressing it in accurate and concise way, to communicate and compel.
Possesses a practical understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to maximize copy’s reach.
Balances multiple projects at a time, works with cross-functional teams, and reacts to feedback with thoughtful and creative solutions.
Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
Two or more years of related experience.
Exceptional writing abilities with strong grammatical and proofreading abilities.
Experience in creative or advertising writing and working as a member of a dynamic team of creatives.
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
A self-starter with strong organization and project management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve routine problems and situations.
Basic knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Basic knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to explain fact, policies, and practices.
