The Director of Finance manages financial accounting functions, provide organizational & administrative support for VP of Finance, and helps scale the business. The DOF is accountable for overseeing timely and accurate financial reporting, including coordinating the preparation and the review of business activity, financial statements, and reporting.
The DOF role is focused around technical and analytical focused work. The position encompasses a defined span of control and opportunity for someone who engenders trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency and assures consistent achievement of quality standards. The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.

Act as the technical accounting lead, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
Develop and maintain effective internal controls.
Strategically lead “deep dive” projects to resolve issues to drive profitability while growing the company.
Work alongside a cohesive leadership team that is committed to personal and professional growth.
Performs analysis of various ledger accounts necessary for making departmental decisions.
This position will serve as back-up to various other positions within the Finance Department.

Oversee the timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting process, including coordinating the preparation and the review of business activity, financial statements and reporting, and annual budget.
Facilitate business license, sales tax reporting, liability working comp insurance audits, and 401K administration.
Manages the collection, posting, reconciliation and applications for all taxing bodies.
Provides oversight for depository activities.
Completes comprehensive month end close to include preparing journal entries and accruals completing cost of sales entries reconciling balance sheet accounts ensuring proper tax reporting and analyzing profit performance.
Oversee payroll reconciling and verification.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Skills, Knowledge or Experience with Sage Intacct platforms, Microsoft Office, and ProfitSword.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and automated reporting software.
CPA Certification.
Solid understanding of GAAP and Internal Controls.
5+ years of experience in a finance leadership position or a 5+ year history of progressive career growth in the hospitality industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift, Carry, Push, and Pull up to 35 lbs.
TRAVEL: Up to 10%, home office allowance allotted.
