Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to record and reconcile cash receipts transactions, and bank related activities in accordance with The State regulations and Department/Agency procedures. This position may assist other Accountant and Supervisors by providing the transactions necessary for accounting and budgetary analysis, and may enter data in Excel or a financial or budgetary system as directed.
POSITION DUTIES
Batches daily cash receipts and records in FMIS (Financial Management Information System). Ensures proper recording of allocation of remittances.
Processes overpayment of initial balance due on invoices.
Trains and performs reconciliations of all cash receipts and payments in FMIS on a monthly basis. Reconciles each site’s deposit and CC/TC (Credit Card/Tele check) transactions.
Trains to performs Reconciliations of CCU (Central Collection Unit) Accounts.
Trains to monitor, interpret and apply the laws, regulations, policies and procedures in accordance to State and Federal guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
Experience: None
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours auditing, for the required education.
2. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.
