Position Type: Full Time. Exempt. Hours are typically 8 AM – 5 PM or evening and/or weekends as needed to accommodate and complete work load and responsibilities of the position.Travel Required: Occasionally, but necessary when needed.Job Function: The Director of Finance position is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The Director of Finance oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection, human resources, and payroll and risk management. Provides high level of professional, courteous, and Lasallian customer service to both external constituents (parents or alumni) and internal constituents (faculty, staff, or coaches).Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees and reviews work completed by Business Office staff and contractors. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures. Create, propose, and direct St. Michael’s approved financial operations. Provides status of financial condition of the school by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data. Prepare the annual school budget in conjunction with school President. Review budget vs actual performance for entire organization. Track and forecast organizational cash flow needs and trends. Provide thought leadership through financial planning for future years. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation and consulting with outside advisors. Advises management of actions and potential risks. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Approve all necessary reports, claims, and forms to secure all money due to the school. Responsible for assessment of organization’s investment portfolio via interaction with investment advisor. Responsible for calculation of the annual endowment distribution in compliance with adopted policies. Assist President with monthly finance committee meetings to present information on the school’s financial activities prior to each regular board meeting. Provide accurate and timely reporting for internal needs as requested. Ensure absolute confidentiality of information, files, and records. Hire, train, develop and appraise Business Office staff effectively. Perform other duties as assigned by the President.Qualifications: Mandatory Requirements:
