Square is growing its financial services footprint through the launch of new products and international expansions. This is an exciting time for our business and to support these activities we are looking for 2 Managers to join our Finance and Strategy Banking team to lead strategic and business planning for our Credit business. One role will be a people manager, and the other role will be an individual contributor on the same team.
These positions will be fundamental in shaping our credit strategy and communicating critical decisions to Product leadership, our Bank partners and to Block management. Success in this role requires the ability to exercise excellent business acumen while often operating autonomously without existing problem solving frameworks or precedent solutions. We are thus looking for someone with a strong analytical background who can manage and drive these solutions across a variety of strategic and financial focused challenges.
Candidates can sit in any Square office in the US or be remote from any US state with the exception of Alaska.
You Will:
Serve in a divisional CFO-like capacity for our credit products. Key responsibilities will include:
Lead all strategic and business planning for Square’s global credit business, including understanding key internal and external drivers and business performance trends to inform decision making for critical investments.
Be the lead strategy partner to our Credit Product and Square Financial Services teams, driving business planning and insights that will shape the future of our lending strategy.
Create analyses that allow leaders to make clear decisions through strategic, highly visible projects
Forecast, analyze and report business performance
Work with senior leaders and partners to surface strategic insights for decision making
Partner with product leadership to develop new strategies to drive growth both in domestic and international markets
Collaborate across Marketing, Capital Markets, and Business Intelligence (among other teams) to identify and understand complex relationships between key drivers of our business
You Have:
6+ years of relevant experience in a combination of Banking, strategy/operations and/or finance/planning functions
Prior experience in credit/lending is highly preferred
Ability to exercise sound judgment and clearly articulate outcomes to senior management
Advanced proficiency in Excel (can perform complex functions), there will be a case study
Experience leading complex projects end to end involving multiple stakeholders
Ability to employ large datasets to identify performance insights that influence decisions
Experience with SQL and/or other relational database programming languages, preferred
