Manager of Operations Finance
The Manager, Operations Finance is responsible for planning and coordinating plant budgets and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices as well as serve as the primary point person for all cost accounting activities. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plants and provide recommendations to improve site performance.

This role will be the lead financial advisor to the plants management and report operationally to the Onsite Managers and functionally to the Management team. Key areas of responsibility will include spend analysis, material & labor variance analysis, forecasting, KPI (key performance indicators) management and reporting, asset safeguarding, cost accounting, and evaluating/tracking cost out opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Collect and analyze company’s operational costs
• Settle standard costs of manufactured goods
• Develop and analyze cost standards
• Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Perform account reconciliations
• Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure
• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
• Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
• Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
• Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
• Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
• Help investigation in weekly/monthly dashboard of spending, highlighting opportunities for improvement.
• Support analysis and commentary of drivers behind variances, month to month vs. prior year and forecast and budget.
• Review production variances (materials & labor) with management and help drive to root cause
• Monitors spending on key categories to include maintenance, supplies, and consumables, and support company initiatives to reduce spending.
• As needed, capture relevant material content, scrap, crew size, throughout rates of work centers for use in updating standard costs.
• Review KPI data with management; understand trends and help analyze root causes.
• Help prepare forecasts and the annual budget for the Company.
• Support preparation of budget, forecasts, and monthly bridges.
• Perform inventory cycle counts inter-month and period-end physicals in-line with Company instructions, document results, and suggest improvements.
• Support working capital improvement plans.
• Assist with general ledger close activity.
• Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Prepare financial statements
• Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Assist in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules

Other Job Functions:

• Performs other job-related and department-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• Manages accounting staff

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

• Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics
• Understanding of organizational accounting concepts
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data
• Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software
• Ability to perform risk and security assessments
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
• Collaboration and teamwork
• Bachelors’ degree in Account, finance or related
• Prior manufacturing company experience
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Excellent attention to detail
• High energy and strong curiosity
• Comfortable walking the manufacturing floor
• Ability to look for new ways for the company to improve

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
