JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for working closely with the Video Programming Finance and Acquisition teams to inform business decisions through insightful analyses of the financial performance and implications of the programming expense items, working with the Programming Acquisition and Legal teams to provide economic analysis, models and scenarios that drive business growth and support negotiations with large media companies for linear and new media rights of broadcast, regional sports, premium, and cable television programming.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Translates requests from various teams into quantitative models that proficiently and accurately answer the business question at hand.
- Summarizes the results of the analysis, concisely boil down the model into a brief and cohesive story, and develop recommendations to be delivered to executives.
- Assists in the development of short and long-term plans and budgets for programming expenses.
- Provides value-added analysis to ensure that financial awareness is built into departmental decision-making activities.
- Maintains keen awareness of cable industry dynamics to provide macro points of view and the creative/critical thinking required to formulate positions.
- Creates complex economic and pricing models and conduct timely deal analysis; determine emerging financial trends across the industry.
- Creates and maintains value measurement models to assess the financial impact of programming expenditures.
- Develops tools, systems, and procedures to help effectively manage the business.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Expert in data aggregation and analysis (SQL, Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
- Ability to identify creative solutions and isolate key issues quickly

- Ability to clearly articulate rationale and support for positions and results
- Ability to turn numbers into meaningful stories and present across all levels of the team – from junior analysts to senior executives
- Ability to read and comprehend legal and contractual language
- Ability to evaluate specific business categories and marketplace trends to identify prospective opportunities that enhance national positioning against competitors in the marketplace
- Superior skills and knowledge of corporate financial management appropriate for a mid to large-sized company
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training, education and experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
5+ years Financial planning, analysis and modeling
2+ years Management or leadership experience
Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Cable or similar video distribution industry experience
