The Global Financial Operations – Motion Picture Group (MPG) is searching for a Director to join our team. The Director will be responsible for ensuring the accounting and financial reporting are accurate and timely. The Director will also be responsible for the oversight, accounting and control needs of international territories (SPIP) and Imageworks.
What You’ll Do:
- Define, refine and implement all aspects of the “GFO Model”. This includes active participation in defining and refining the interaction model with MPG FP&A, Capgemini, and the MPG commercial teams as needed; ensuring a strong control environment; aligning on the appropriate reviews and feedback mechanisms
- Prepare and review submissions to PWC
- Prepare statutory and tax audit requests, with a mindset of building processes that can be transitioned to CapGemini in the future
- Ensure adequate documentation and coverage of existing Imageworks and SPIP processes
- Understand and rationalize all existing Imageworks and SPIP processes and reports
- Liaise between the Home Office and Capgemini to ensure that SPE is achieving the highest overall results achievable
- Ongoing focus on transformation: identify and implement opportunities to eliminate low value work and standardize processes which will reduce complexity and enable greater benefits to be derived from technology (RPA, SAP S4/Hana, etc.)
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting. CPA, or MBA a plus
- Successful track record in leadership roles
- Strong accounting and Finance experience, 8+ years
- Well versed in maintaining, documenting and overseeing a control environment for a large-scale corporation
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, listening, written, and presentation
- Systematic problem-solving skills and mindset
Preferred:
- Understanding of the entertainment business
- Ability to effectively coordinate and facilitate cooperation from multiple Finance and Accounting groups and key strategic partners to accomplish assignments and goals
- Excellent relationship management skills – ability to work closely with a variety of constituencies including Finance and Accounting executives, offshore vendor managers, commercial teams and technical staff; ability to understand and effectively deal with cultural differences
- Hands-on management skills as well as ability to lead staff and process improvements
