Signature Bank Looking for Trade Finance Manager at New York, NY, United States Full Time

Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that all functions in the Trade Finance Department are in compliance with established guidelines and policies. The Trade Finance Manager will play a strategic role in leading and developing the Trade Finance team.
Primary responsibilities include:

• Oversee process for booking commitments, issuances, payments, documentation presentation, bankers’ acceptance, cancellation or any other needed changes via e-loans; work closely with Internal and External Audit, SOX and Collateral teams
• Verify wires for fee confirmation on standby letters of credit; authorize month end reports
• Assist new Private Client Groups with potential clients and transactions
• Authorize or decline payments on drafts drawn on standby letters of credit
• Approve and release wires for commercial letter of credits, standby letter of credits, documentary collection, monthly fees, wires for loan department
• Manage the placement and removal of holds; add description on collateral accounts for commercial and standby letters of credit transactions
• Oversee charging of DDA accounts for commercial letters of credit, standby letters of credit, document collection fees
• Provide support to senior management, internal and external partners

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with processing commercial letters of credit, bankers’ acceptance, standby letters of credit & documentary collection required; experience in a medium or large commercial bank preferred
• Experience managing a small team required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Demonstrated leader with ability to motivate staff and produce a high performing team
• Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal. Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
• Must possess high ethical standards with demonstrated integrity, tact, and diplomacy
• Ability to handle competing priorities and meet demands in a high volume environment
• Attention to detail a must with ability to problem solve and recognize areas of opportunity
• Client-centric team player; able to follow through on issues to resolution
