SIDES & Associates Looking for Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist at LAFAYETTE, LA Full Time

This position is for a full-time accounting professional with a Lafayette, Louisiana-based firm that has been a leader in its field for over 45 years. The accounts payable and receivable specialist works in the financial department in close contact with the company’s controller. This employee is responsible for recording, computing, and classifying invoices and revenue data to ensure a complete financial record. This employee is also responsible for all company billing, payments and client invoicing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Daily processing vendor invoices in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
• Entering detailed data accurately, including vendors, dates, amounts, and tax information.
• Collaborating with internal parties to resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
• Reconciling vendor accounts with monthly statements and validating account balances.
• Processing payment to vendors.
• Answer incoming calls for the payables department.
• Generating monthly invoices for clients.
• Working customer correspondence to ensure payments are applied to correct invoices.
• Posting of all deposits into billing software.
• Answering incoming calls for the billing department.
• Processing payments and credits.
• Receiving and processing mail.
• Performing other related accounting and clerical duties as assigned.
• Securing financial information by completing backups.
• Maintaining financial historical records by properly filing accounting documents.
