Regional Marketing Specialist – Los Angeles
Shake Shack is looking for a passionate and dynamic Los Angeles-based Regional Marketing Specialist to join our highly-collaborative, fast-paced marketing team. This role will support local marketing and new shack openings in LA as well as other key markets on the West Coast. You will excel in this role as someone who embodies LA culture and has a proven record of building strong relationships and executing strategies with high attention to detail and efficiency .
On a day-to-day basis, the Regional Marketing Specialist will support and execute local marketing plans for brand activations and restaurant openings. You will work closely with the Director of Regional Marketing, Regional Marketing Team t o form overall marketing strategies that drive sales, tell our brand story, and build community. This role reports to th e LA Regional Marketing Manager .
We’re looking for a team-oriented leader who is both creative and data-drive n with proven experience in event execution and partnership management. This is a growth opportunity position!
While this position is LA-based, 15-20% travel outside of market can be expected. As with most hospitality / marketing roles, some evening and weekend work will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Local Marketing Plans: In tandem wi th the LA Regional Marketing Manager , c reate, execute, and manage regional marketing campaigns and calendar , ensur ing they ladder up to and support national initiatives as to hit quarterly KPIs. Train GMs on Local Shack Marketing and support GMs with tailored Local Shack Marketing plans for Shacks .
Brand Awareness: I mplement and support activations that build local brand awareness and drive traffic and sales
Community + Culture: Execute our community partnership strategy at a regional level based upon national CSR strategy
Food Truck: Support future LA-based food truck and GM from launch and ongoing, including coordinating events, overseeing bookings and food truck calendar , ensuring payments are received, supporting marketing events, etc . Must have excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task!
Build key relationships with local influencers, community partners, and likeminded brands and partner with internal and local PR agency to coordinate drops and events Work with national marketing team to support and execute campaigns as needed
Work closely with RMM team to ensure regionalized campaigns (outside of national programming) are being leveraged on owned channels (PR, social, email, mobile/web, advertising, brand partnerships and more)
In-store Merchandising: ensure Shacks are adhering to the local store merchandising strategy
Sales + Traffic: Test localized sales and traffic driving programming and promotions and add to playbook upon successful activations / programming
Support Regional Marketing team with ad-hoc projects , administrative work, reports, etc.
Stay connected to trends and share with larger team
Oversee vendors + invoicing and assist in managing and tracking budget
Skills & Knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a related field
A good balance of creativity and analytic skills
Has a nimble, “start-up” mentality, possessing the ability to manage multiple projects and act quickly and effectively to pivot based upon the state of the business
Hungry to test and learn local promotions and grassroots community outreach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience
3 – 5 years of relevant marketing experience
Proven experience in regional marketing (or field marketing), preferably within the restaurant or retail industry
Experience writing business cases, managing partnerships and budgets preferred
