Job Title: Materials Manager

Purpose of the position: Providing Materials control and while supporting of the company’s revenue and expense goals.
Role:
Provide materials support and coordination to the Sales Manager, Operations Manager and Process Engineer.
Assist Customer Service / Account Management group with data management and administrative duties.
Measurements and Goals:
Independent, successful and timely management of areas of responsibility.
Timely completion of specific tasks.
Accuracy and organization.
Responsibilities:
Materials : Inventory management, Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records: Reviews production schedules and related information and communicates with department supervisors/managers to determine material requirements. Responsible for tracking all incoming material, including expediting material as required. Control inventory through SPC and cycle count programs.
Requisitions material and establishes delivery dates, according to job order, stock balances and priorities of material availability.
Monitors material delivered to warehouse to verify conformance to specifications.
Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
Complete the End of Month process (EOM) within two days.
Participates in MRB meetings to resolve quality issues. Coordinates and monitors all return material activity. Process returns, follow up for credits or repair.
Establish procedures and supervise the annual physical inventory. This includes the taking and valuing of the year-end physical inventory.
Vendor Management. Establish a relationship with current vendors and create new.
Provide clerical support for part numbers, BOM maintenance activities.
Responsible for all transactions from Purchase Orders through Invoicing.
Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
Oversee warehouse staff (1)
Cleanliness of Warehouse and related areas
All other reasonable duties, as assigned.
Data Support: Perform data gathering tasks as directed by department managers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends.
Good technical writing, documentation, and record keeping skills.
Good analytical problem solving ability.
Ability to contribute in a cross functional collaborative environment.
Working knowledge and experience in scheduling, MRP, ERP system, inventory control.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications to include but not limited to; Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 5 years progressive experience in materials management
Experience in total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.
Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills.
APICS certification a plus
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
