Purpose of Job

Preparation of monthly reports, statutory financial statements and disclosures for Chemicals Americas while interacting across functions to resolve and implement solutions to transactional issues.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for financial reporting, including income statement, balance sheet and disclosures in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
• Maintain complete and accurate master data to support reporting and disclosures
• Ensure effective financial reporting execution by considering timelines and requirements
• Provide information to global parent company to ensure accurate reporting of consolidated financial statements and integrated reporting
• Responsible for Prepared by Client (PBC) requests from external auditors
• Ensure month end closing and reporting process is accurate and completed timely
• Responsible for proper preparation of account reconciliations
• Preparation of variance analysis
• Budget and forecast development and reporting
• Comply with SOX requirements and internal controls
• Ensure valid treatment and recording of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS and Sasol accounting manual and US GAAP
• Interact and coordinate tasks with internal and external stakeholders regarding reporting issues

Formal Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance – required
• CPA or CA – required

Working Experience

Experience: 5+ relevant years in Accounting & Finance

Required Personal/Professional Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Proactive, planning and organizational skills
• Strong Excel experience
• Strong experience with systems (One Stream, SAP)
