Manager, Finance and Stewardship – District Office FUNCTION: The Manager, Finance and stewardship is a high energy, detail-oriented team player with exceptional time management skills and accounting experience. The position is technically competent, values efficiency and enjoys interacting with a diverse group of people. The Finance and Stewardship Manager will be responsible for all accounting duties including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, annual audit, oversee production of the 990, and the stewardship of donors. The position must work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and non-profit partners, and will require the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, problem solve and work independently in a fast-paced environment with professional expectations. Essential Job Functions: Manage all accounting and financials production for the San Jacinto College Foundation. This includes policy and procedures, and reporting. Plan and responsible for the annual audit with an external auditing firm. Oversee production of the annual 990 by the auditing firm. Compile annual spending from endowments, named scholarships, and other Foundation funds according to the Foundation Spending Policy. Create annual Foundation budget and create the annual College budget for the office of resource development. Work with investment advisors on all Foundation assets and ensure the investment policy allocations are current. Oversee rebalancing to keep investments within the investment policy. Create and disburse all annual donor tax receipts by January 31 each year. Oversee stewardship of donors by creating donor reports, program reports, and creating and implementing a donor stewardship plan. Work with Foundation, Marketing, and Public Relations staff to implement the plan. Additional Job Functions: Attend various College and campus meetings on behalf of the College Foundation. Supervise coordinator, scholarships and stewardship. Work with College events planner and Coordinator, Scholarships and Stewardship to create donor recognition events and gifts for donors. The role of the manager is to guide the invitations to focus on specific fundraising areas. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow through. High level of accuracy. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to work independently with high degree of integrity. Available to work weekends and evenings as needed. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience. Preferred Experience: Minimum 10 years of accounting/finance experience working in a non profit or foundation environment.
