The Finance Manager, Main Steel will be a hands-on leader with strong business acumen directly ing to the Director of Financial ing & Analysis, US Service Center with a dotted line to the VP, Main Steel.
This position will be responsible for the financial stewardship of Samuel’s Main Steel portfolio and be responsible for its financial ing, analytics and guidance activities.
In particular, the position will be responsible for developing/monitoring tools, scorecards, analysis and insights that support financial, commercial and operational decision making to optimize Samuel enterprise value and return on investment in the portfolio.
The position will ensure there is analysis and ing to:
measure performance, assess risks and opportunities, conduct commercial and operational reviews for continued improvement in efficiencies.
*Detailed Responsibilities:
*GROWTH SUPPORT: Understand key business drivers for long-term sustainable growth, as well as develop predictive analytics and tools to support the portfolio in achieving profitable growth.
*DECISION SUPPORT: Develop ad-hoc modeling and analysis to support business decisions. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop tools that provide critical financial and operational information and KPI’s.
*GUIDANCE: Own the financial planning and forecasting process, building both the quarterly, annual and long range financial plans and targets that are aligned with the portfolio’s strategic objectives. Drive an efficient and effective process for developing financial budgets including developing, communicating and driving the budget process including the timeline, budget templates and preparing budget deliverables and engaging all internal stakeholders
*ANALYSIS: Perform analysis and execute recommendations for improvement – in extensive consultations with the operating/commercial teams. Solid cost accounting background required.
*ING: Responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related analysis comparing results with budget, forecasts and prior period, while ensuring deadlines and performance standards are met.
*ACCOUNTING: Responsible for the monthend close of the Main Steel general ledger.
*MANAGEMENT PRESENTATIONS: Prepare business review packages and related analysis to support management presentations; provide timely, regular analysis, ing and presentations on the forecasted performance of the business identifying areas of opportunities and risks.
*CONTROLS: Responsible for monitoring and enhancing internal controls and adherence to IFRS including compliance with local, state and federal ing responsibilities
*RELATIONSHIPS: Build great working relationships with all internal stakeholders (sales, ops, purchasing, accounting teams) / customers including corporate teams and interface with internal/external stakeholders
*SPECIAL PROJECTS : Any other special projects (including commodity hedging / risk management support activities).
