What you’ll do…
Manager II, Finance – Sam’s Operations Finance
About the Position:
This position supports Club Operations, specifically focused on Total Loss, In-Club Operations, and Product, providing insightful analysis to drive business decisions, as well as leading planning (AOP/LRP), forecasting, and month-end close activities.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if:
- You are experienced in Retail and Operations
- You have expertise in planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and month end close
- You have knowledge of how high-level accounting impacts business decisions
- You are a proven problem solver with high intellectual curiosity and strong analytical & financial modeling abilities
- You’re stimulated by challenges and are ready to operate in matrix organization with large volume/values of data
- You demonstrate super user capabilities in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
- You demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to deal with ambiguity
- You are data savvy and comfortable pulling data using SQL to conduct analysis
- You have experience with analytic software such as PowerBI
You’ll make an impact by:
Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop annual and long-range business plans. Prepare forecast updates on revenue, profit, and other measures. Analyze financial performance and prepare and present financial summaries and business insights to executives.
Decision Support: Evaluate business decisions and help management make appropriate decisions, balancing customer experience and impact to sales growth and profitability. Develop and leverage internal and external networks to maximize the achievement of business goals. Research and understand business processes to find more effective and efficient opportunities.
Business Partnering: Interact regularly with senior management teams to help define and enable business strategies. Learn about the business and respond to requests, asking the right questions to determine what data is really needed. Partner with management to continuously improve business decisions and results as well as improve the quality of data on which decisions are made.
Protect the Company: Manage complex control structures to mitigate risk of financial misstatement and engage with cross-functional teams to develop new processes, ensure proper controls are present, and enhance reporting transparency of company financial systems.
Leadership: This position will require strong leadership and influence skills. Develop, implement, and improve new and existing financial processes. The ability to be agile and help in a wide variety of projects and programs is required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area.
