RXR is currently looking for a Senior Commercial Property Accountant. Summary: The senior property accountant position reports to the Controller/ Director of Property Accounting, is responsible for providing financial support for the portfolio while maintaining accounting standards. This includes but is not limited to preparing/reviewing the monthly close cycle, calculating monthly cashflow analyses, monthly and quarterly investor/lender reporting and researching of accounting issues. This role would be responsible for a portfolio of commercial assets, completing month end, quarterly and annual workpapers, preparing financial statements and budget variance reporting. Principle Job Responsibilities Review/ Create property operating reports, variance analysis and capital tracking schedules Calculate monthly cash flows analyses Prepare periodic distributions or property level available cash flow/ cap calls to JV Partners and upper tier entities. Review depreciation/amortization workpapers and roll forward schedules Review/ create monthly and quarterly reporting packages that are sent to lenders and joint venture partners Maintain work papers and assist in the preparation of audited financial statements Work with independent auditors in conjunction with year-end audits Participate in the integration of all accounting related activities for the property Work with Asset Managers & Property Managers and other interested parties to coordinate the creation and flow of financial data, budgets and reforecasts Review management fee and asset management fee calculations Review and analyze tenant leases Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to maintain accurate and efficient workflow and reporting Required Skills and Attributes Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a real estate operating company with commercial experience Bachelor’s degree – Accounting Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently Working knowledge of GAAP accounting with respect to residential real estate properties Strong financial acumen and ability to understand real estate operating statements Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with Yardi software a + Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality and attention to detail Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills as well as oral/written communication skills Ability to work under pressure, establish priorities and meet deadlines Dependable, strong relationship-building ability, proactive, results oriented and resourceful.
