RSM US LLP is looking for a dynamic M&A/Financial Instruments Tax Senior Manager or Manager to join our growing Washington National Tax office (WNT). As a member of WNT you would play a critical role providing advice to our clients and firm personnel in the areas of financial instruments, corporate, and M&A tax. You would also provide technical support to our national M&A tax team, which is a rapidly growing consulting practice. In this role you would have the opportunity to advise on wide ranging issues such as recapitalization, restructuring and bankruptcy transactions, classification, sales, and exchanges of financial instruments, deductibility of interest, hedging transactions, and many others.
Responsibilities:
Work as a part of a growing WNT practice supporting both our firm personnel and clients as well as our national M&A tax practice
Provide thought leadership on the latest technical topics in Financial Instruments and M&A tax
Identify and develop high value tax opportunities for our clients
Review tax opinion memorandums and calculations addressing Financial Instruments and M&A tax issues
Planning, managing and executing on advice engagements with limited supervision
Develop, motivate, and train team members
Qualifications:
7-10 years of federal tax with financial instruments and/or mergers and acquisition experience in a public accounting firm, a corporate tax department, or a law firm or comparable experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
CPA or J.D./LL.M
Knowledge of a broad range of financial instruments and/or corporate tax matters in various industries
Ability to handle multiple engagements
Excellent research and writing skills
