4 years of experience in grants management
Experience in a corporate philanthropy or foundation environment
Experience with process improvement and creative problem-solving skills
Experience applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Preferred Qualifications
6 years of experience in grants management in a corporate philanthropy setting
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Workday, Salesforce, Checkmate, or similar Grants Management system
Experience in accounting and audit preparation, with gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information
Job Summary
The Grants and Finance Manager supports every team member on the Rocket Community Fund (RCF) and all Rocket Community Fund partners by ensuring that all agreements are properly crafted, executed and tracked. Additionally, this role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the organization’s financial management of its grants and donations. To do this, the Grants and Finance Manager works closely with the company’s finance and accounting teams to track all payments — including grant payments, loan payments and invoices — accurately and timely. Lastly, this position works closely with anyone interested in applying for funding from RCF to ensure that they understand the application process and have a high-quality experience.
Responsibilities
Manage and support grant/loan requirements and implementation for the organization
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations for all grants, sponsorships, loans and programs
Screen applications and maintain a complete electronic database for grants management
Keep relevant team members informed about changes to the grants management system and process
Train new and existing Rocket Community Fund team members on grants management system
Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process
Develop and oversee standard terms and conditions for grant/sponsorship award letters, agreements and contracts
Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant/sponsorship/loan funded programs
Provide professional customer service and technical support to ensure our partners’ experience is exceptional
Review all incoming grant/sponsorship/loan agreements for their financial requirements to provide advice on their application, feasibility and practical implementation
Oversee implementation and tracking of social impact investments and other specialized awards instruments
Review and maintain the Rocket Community Fund budget, prepare budget reports, quarterly fund statements and grant reports
Reconcile accounts payable system with the grants management system and maintain monthly and quarterly budget-to-actual reports as requested
Analyze and report on general ledger account activity for variances from budget
Serve as liaison between operations, information management and finance on compliance of banking regulations and disbursement of grant/sponsorship funds
Process payments related to grants/sponsorships and vendors
Undertake special projects as assigned or initiated
Keep abreast of accounting pronouncements and industry best practices with respect to revenue recognition and grant financial reporting for CSR programs
Pursue additional training in grant management requirements/regulations, as needed
Perform administrative tasks (information management, maintenance of financial aspects of grant files, document destruction, etc.) as needed
Maintain a strong commitment to the Rocket Community Fund’s mission and values with the ability to demonstrate that commitment in daily interactions
