Description
Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong VP / Director of Finance to support our hospitality client on a 3-4-month on-site project. The VP of Finance will primarily be responsible for developing and executing strategic objectives for the finance function that align with our client’s broader business objectives. You will also ensure that our finance strategy, goals, and practices are integrated with other functional strategies across the multi-site organization.
Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. This includes developing a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
Budgeting and Financial Reporting: Oversee the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, present these reports to the president, and make necessary adjustments based on these analyses.
Cash Flow Management: Manage company funds, oversee investment activities, and ensure cash flow is adequate to meet the organization’s operations and growth.
Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including those related to financial reporting and transactions.
Risk Management: Assess and manage financial risks related to real estate investments and hospitality operations.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, performance management, and daily supervision.
Investor Relations: Maintain relationships with investors and potential investors, providing them with regular financial updates and responding to their inquiries.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate financial insights to stakeholders, helping them understand the company’s financial situation and prospects.
Operational Efficiency: Work with other executives and departments to find ways to improve operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance revenues.
Capital Structure: Decide on the most appropriate capital structure for the company, whether it involves equity, debt, or some combination.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in leading the finance function in a senior leadership role
Experience in the hospitality and real estate industries is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of corporate financial law and risk management practices
Proven experience in team building and leadership
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
High level of commercial and business acumen
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred
