You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. How you will make an impact

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

• Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

• Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

• Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

• Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

• Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team

• Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

• Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

• Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Requirements – High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

• Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

• FINRA experience

• General familiarity with Year-end Close

• Month-end Close Activities experience highly desired

• Practical knowledge of regulatory reporting

• Well-founded grasp of Monthly Financial Close

• Proven knowledge of Monthly Close

• Month end closings experience

• Strong familiarity with Financial Close Process

• Expertise in Annual Close Processes

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

• Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• CPA/MBA preferred

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
