Position Summary: The financial manager acts in a management position in areas of financial management and accountability and is responsible to the executive director. The financial manager apprises the executive director concerning the state of the individual’s finances and service area budgets. In coordination with the executive director, the financial manager completes the budget for the board’s approval and continually monitors the state of the general budget.
Education/Experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· A minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience
· Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
· Efficient and accurate typing, calculator, and computer skills
· Ability to work effectively with persons who are developmentally disabled
· Valid MT driver’s li cense (or ND if legal resident of ND)

Position Specific Responsibilities:
· Administers accounting system including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statement preparation and analysis, budget preparation and analysis, and cost accounting, and payroll
· Maintain the financial records of Richland Opportunities, Inc. (ROI) including an accounting system for the purpose of audit and examination of any books, documents, papers, and records maintained in support of the agency’s contract with the Developmental Disabilities Program of the State of Montana.
· Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting practices and to safeguard corporate assets.
· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements/reports for the executive director, board, department heads, external agencies and prepare any financial reports as needed.
· Prepare and present a Financial Report at the monthly board meetings.
· Attend meetings and workshops that pertain to the financial needs of the corporation and participate in financial training, as it becomes available.
· Complete invoicing for individual’s cost plans in coordination with the Administrative Assistant, if the Administrative Assistant is unable to complete the invoicing.
· Keep financial records in such a manner that they sustain an independent, federally mandated audit. Such audits to be accomplished on an as needed basis or when a change in executive director or fiscal manager occurs.
· Maintain checkbooks, savings and financial information for assigned persons in service.
· Prepare the budget as per state DDP contract language and Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM) guidelines and approved by the board.
· Complete or oversee completion of payroll, payroll taxes, insurance sign-up and premiums, and other related employee benefits e.g.(SEP and bonus if they are available to employees).
· In coordination with the executive director, manage Unemployment and Workman Compensation Claims.
· Accept other financial management responsibilities and duties to provide services per the executive director, Board of Directors and DDP
