SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as Business Manager. This role requires a knowledge of financial analysis and accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee financial operations of the school including payroll, employee benefits, purchasing, insurance, and building and grounds.
2. Coordinate tuition collection, tuition communications with families, and the financial assistance program
3. Create and monitor budgets, monitor actual results, and complete monthly variance analysis
4. Provide management reports monthly and on-demand
5. Establish and monitor profitability metrics to analyze the school’s operations, providing information to the Head of School and Finance Committee for consideration
6. Assist the Diocesan Accounting Office with their review of internal controls and provide all materials and documentation required for the audit
7. Acquire information needed from the Diocese of Davenport to compute the parish assessment numbers and submit to the parishes for approval
8. Ensure all expenditures are consistent with established Board of Education policies and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles by the Diocese of Davenport
9. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations for financial, payroll, and tax matters
10. Perform other duties as assigned
11. Attend Board of Education meetings for reporting purposes
12. Work collaboratively with the Foundation
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience or 5+ years relevant experience. CPA desirable, but not required.
2. Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting, and financial analysis
3. Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Google Suite and Quickbooks
4. Attention to detail and positive can-do attitude a must
5. Ability to tolerate peak workloads and multiple assignments. Produce results with accuracy and reliability.
6. Ability to initiate action and work independently
