As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proven Assistant Controller. This position will work closely with the Controller and Vice President of Finance. You will be responsible for assisting with the month-end closing of financial statements for multiple companies, assisting in the supervision of staff, implementing new accounting software, and a variety of accounting functions within the department. - Responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting functions, such as managing accounting billing, cash, and collections to ensure invoices go out promptly, payments are applied correctly, and collections are maintained.
- Play a key role in managing all external audits, including financial, tax, and regulatory, as necessary.
- Support month-end and year-end close process for various companies
- Reconcile all liability GL accounts for multiple companies.
- Monitor and ensure Federal and State payroll tax payments are made on time and no penalties are assessed.
- Ensure deadlines are met by all departments to ensure timely closing of financial statements.
- Work with implementing new accounting software.
- Additional duties as necessary
- 5+ years of financial management experience
- CPA required.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Expert level knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent accounting software knowledge and communication skills
