JOB DESCRIPTION .
Reporting to the Vice President Finance Strategy, Portfolio Management and Operations, this position will be part of the Finance Excellence and Portfolio Management team which is responsible for driving effective and efficient initiatives throughout the Finance organization to enable us to respond quickly to the changing needs of the organization and align with the strategic direction of the enterprise.
Essential Functions:
Support the Vice President, Finance Strategy, Portfolio Management and Operations by supporting precision execution across everything we do in Finance
Employ strong business and operational acumen to manage complex and multiple responsibilities, eliminate surprises, mitigate risk and escalate issues as appropriate
Provide project management and analytical support on high priority initiatives, as directed
Integrate multiple perspectives to ensure a balanced and comprehensive approach
Engage across the organization to effectively support and communicate initiatives in a highly collaborative manner
Collaborate with manager and Project Leads to drive successful completion of enterprise- wide efforts
Facilitate efficient and effective business processes and financial strategic planning, under the direction of the Vice President, Finance Strategy, Portfolio Planning and Operations and in conjunction with key stakeholders across the business
Leverage experience and network to influence Finance and cross-functional partners to meet business objectives.
Support key stakeholder alignment and cross-functional collaboration for Finance
Manager seeks LOCAL candidates as onsite presence will be required – the amount of time onsite is TBD but will not be full-time
Candidates will need to be vaccinated against Covid-19
7-10 years in Finance, with 5+ years in the life sciences industry
Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy while balancing multiple priorities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Adept at synthesizing and presenting complex data, including financial information.
Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to collaborate effectively in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional matrixed environment and seek diverse perspectives
Strong professional presence, effective communication, presentation, influence, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability in partnering skills and influencing without authority
Strategic and operational agility; able to support and operationalize Finance and enterprise-wide strategies
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong insight into cross-functional implications of complex business issues (Finance, Operational, Marketing, Sales, BD, and R&D functions)
Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal with a focus on clarity and brevity
Comfort with high levels of uncertainty, unstructured projects
Technologically savvy with advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and project management tools
Contemporary knowledge of biotechnology / pharmaceuticals and scientific / medical trends in areas of interest to SMPA
The ideal candidate will have the ability to maneuver in a complex business environment, acumen to manage complex business situations, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously, including balancing progress on long-term projects with the urgency of immediate operational demands
The incumbent must possess the skills to influence and collaborate with a diverse domestic and global stakeholder community to achieve actionable results and build strong and sustainable relationships

Pay: $70.00 – $91.00 per hour
